Hartland Campership Benefit
I am so excited to be able offer family portraits at Hartland Christian Camp during Homeschool Family Camp! Hartland is one of my favorite places among God's creation. Portraits will be offered at a discounted price, and proceeds will be donated to Hartland Christian Camp for their campership fund. Hartland's Campership Fund helps provide financial assistance to any and all individuals and families who may otherwise miss out on the life-changing opportunities available at camp. Hartland's Campership Fund has been established for this purpose and is funded through the generous donations of a variety of individuals and businesses. Camperships are distributed on an individual basis to assist those with legitimate needs. For more information please call toll free at 1-888-202-4024, email info@hartlandcamp.com or download a Campership Application. What to wear for portraits? . Consider your surroundings. . Think of the trees, plant life and buildings that are behind you and use those colors to blend in with the surroundings. . Opt for warm, rich hues. Think of the colors of the leaves, the grass, the sky and fields. . Colors are often labeled as earthy and include various browns, such as chocolate, camel and rust work well. . Reds and purples, such as burgundy, violent and crimson, and steely greys, are also good choices. Clothing in medium shades complement portraits made in outdoor environments. . Don't mix dark and light colors if you are taking photos with other people. In other words, if you are wearing khaki or winter white and the other person is wearing deep green or royal purple, the end result will not be cohesive. . Wear classic patterns or solids. . Don't go for anything too trendy, loud or distracting. . Very simple garments always photograph best. . Turtle necks or V-necks are flattering provided that neither is exaggerated in style. Avoid very wide or deep V-neck garments as well as bulky oversized turtlenecks. . 3/4 length or long sleeves are beneficial, as bare arms can call attention to themselves and away from your faces . Long pants and/or full length skirts along with dark stockings will keep the eye from drawing away from your face to your legs. . If feet are to show in the portrait, please make certain that shoes and socks are kept inline with the overall look for your portrait. . You are looking for harmony -- in all colors, on both subjects. Don't wear anything too "indoor" or flashy. A jacket and tie is not going to look right in an outdoor scene amid huge trees and rocks. Same goes for stiletto heels. . Always keep your background in mind to convey the most appropriate message and harmonious look and balance between background and subjects. . At heart, you'll want people to notice you and your reactions and personality, not your clothing. A 15% Discount on standard prints will be given.
